DOT Pier 19-29 Development Plan
This study encompassed an assessment of the existing infrastructure, buildings and surrounding area. It determined the highest and best use for the maximum benefit of the Harbors Division, through economic and financial assessments.

Sand Island Marine Terminal
The firm provided field investigations, engineering design, and construction management for AT&T's Sand Island Marine Terminal. The Marine Terminal serves as home port to AT&T-operated cable ships used to install, maintain, and repair underwater communications cables worldwide. Included in the scope of work are topographic, hydrographic, and subsurface explorations; design of cable pan yard, warehouse, access roads, paved parking area, mooring bollards, and utilities.

Sea Country Residential Subdivision Areas 1-7
LYON provided civil and geotechnical engineering services for a multi-phased, 116-acre housing subdivision encompassing approximately 839 residential units, a recreation center, a child care

Hawaii Regional Housing Privatization at McGrew Point
The project consisted of 140 single-family homes built in 1960 on a 43-acre peninsula protruding into Pearl Harbor. LYON performed all civil engineering, design, cost estimates and specifications as well as construction management which included meetings and coordination with the design team and utilities agencies, regulatory agencies, and involvement in the permit process.

Navy Marine Corps Housing PPV Increment 4 Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe
Forest City Hawaii, LLC awarded LYON the engineering design and project management of civil works for the Navy and Marine Corps Housing PPV, Increment 4 located at the MCBH in Kaneohe. Design was completed in December 2007 and construction is ongoing.

Pualani Subdivision Phase 3 and Flood Study
LYON provided engineering services for the final phase of this 3-phase residential subdivision. Phase III consists of 90 single family housing units on a 21-acre undeveloped site.

Village at Poipu Construction Management Services Phase 1
LYON provided master plan for the non-potable water irrigation system. Also performed construction management duties in a subdivision project. Work included signing off on sewer pressure tests, addressed a redesign of a relocated main entrance road and utilities to the subdivision.

Construction Surveillance for KNMD96-4401&KNMD97-4401 Improve Family Housing, Phases 1-4
LYON provided A-E Title II construction surveillance services for the renovation of 124 family housing units. The firm was responsible for providing construction quality assurance.

Koloa In-Road Lighted Crosswalks Design
LYON prepared the engineering and construction plans for the crosswalk improvements, which consisted of In-Road Warning Lighting System and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon crosswalks. Scope also includes Pavement Marking and Signage revisions along Po'ipu Road and Waikomo Road to accommodate "Complete Streets" and "Safe Routes to School" improvements along with Traffic Control Plans.

FY09 MCA PN 68823 Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing, Schofield Barracks
The design-build team of Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. and CDS International â€" for which LYON is the civil engineer of record (COR) was awarded the Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing (UEPH) project at Schofield Barracks. The project entails the design and construction of a UEPH facility to house 192 single soldiers including demolition of 11 buildings and utilities.

The project was to provide civil engineering design services for the Preferred Home Project located in the Mill Town Center, Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii.

Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) Fisher House III (FH3)
The Fisher House Foundation (FHF) provides no‐cost housing for military families during hospitalization of a loved one. There are currently two such houses on the Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) campus that can accommodate families in 19 rooms. The FHF wishes to double that capacity by building Fisher House III (FH3), a 21‐room structure near the existing houses..

Crossroads at Kapolei Commercial Development
Development consisted of two separate buildings with approximately 35,000 total square feet of commercial/retail area. Site improvement consisted of 159 parking spaces, vehicular/ pedestrian access/ circulation, loading/unloading areas, storm and sanitary sewers, water system for domestic and fire protection, recycled water for irrigation, landscaping and electrical.

Woodlawn Area Earth Stabilization
LYON provided construction management for Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 of the project, representing the City and County of Honolulu in management of all construction activities. Since 2000, we have had two renewable annual contracts for monitoring of inclinometer and piezometer equipment, load cells, and rain fall data with annual monitoring reports submitted to the City and County

HDOT Scenic Byways Program Development
The State of Hawaii contracted LYON to establish Hawaii's first Scenic Byways Program, which included programming documents establishing the State's application process for designation as a State Scenic Byway, community involvement process, and training of HDOT, County and other key stakeholders. LYON was contracted to provide three years of continued technical assistance to HDOT and stakeholders.

Moanalua Valley Hillside Repairs
The project provided an understanding of the nature and probable causes of the earth movement and resulting on-site conditions by defining the extent and type of the slide, the effect of the movement on the area, and measures necessary to protect public facilities, including drainage and pavement.

King Street Construction Management Services
The project consisted of resurfacing and infrastructure improvements to an existing corridor of King Street between Liliha and River Streets, a three- to six-lane major artery about 1,700-ft. in length. Similar improvements were made along South King Street from Bethel Street to South Street, a downtown sector about 3,900-ft. long.

Lunalilo Home Road is a main artery in the eastern part of the Island of Oahu, serving the Hawaii Kai neighborhood's residential, commercial and tourist pedestrian and vehicular traffic.The project was to provide project management, construction support and construction management services to the city.

HDOT Kamehameha Intersection Improvements at Kuilima Drive
This project was completed by LYON, together with InSynergy Engineering, Inc. and KAI Hawaii, Inc. It was created to develop effective, sustainable traffic control improvements in the Kuilima area along Kamehameha Highway.

DTS Bus Bay Improvements at Various Locations
In cooperation with the DTS and the Oahu Transit Company (The Bus), LYON conducted a survey of various bus stop locations to identify candidate sites for construction of bus bays. Following engineering evaluation, four sites were selected for preliminary engineering design and budgeting. Design was then completed on the four selected sites.

Ka- Band Satellite Transmit and Receive Systems (Ka-Stars)
Professional Engineering Services
LYON provided professional engineering services to ITT Corporation. The project involved construction of an antenna foundation and electrical infrastructure at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific (NCTAMS, PAC), Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Facility, Building 409 at Wahiawa, Hawaii for the Ka-Band Satellite Transmit and Receive System (Ka-STARS) installation effort.

The project was to design the intersection of Mokauea Street and Colbum Street.

Nanakuli Elementary School - ADA Transition
The project involved providing the necessary ADA improvements to the school. LYON completed the design work for the improvements of the existing parking lot, classrooms and adjoining sidewalks in order to provide students safe routes to school. LYON's tasks included design of ADA compliant curb ramps, design and layout for ADA accessible route, and classroom and parking lot investigations.

Site layout and design of the installation of a lighted crosswalk system in a heavily used parking area for the Kailua Longs shopping area. The design and construction oversight included striping improvements, traffic control, and the installation of the Lightguard Smart Crosswalk system including electrical design and components.

Waipio Peninsula Recreation Complex Comfort Stations
LYON was subcontracted by Ushijima Architects for the design of sewer and water utilities of two proposed comfort stations at soccer field in the Central Oahu Regional Park, Waipio, HI. The comfort station requires a lift station to connect to the existing sewer main.

Repave School Access Road/ Expand Across from Wheeler Elementary School
Repave School Access Road is a project under NAN Inc. as the lead/prime contractor. As a subcontractor, LYON is to provide civil engineering services which will include a work plan for site investigation and design to minimize the cost of repaving the Wheeler Elementary School Parking Lot, Eastman Road and Old Kamehameha Highway.

LYON provided project design, construction documents, cost estimates, and consultant services during bidding and construction for a new drop off, turn around and guest parking area adjacent to the recently completed ten classroom building at the Project School (Mililani High School).

Moanalua Stream Lining Channel Rehabilitation
The objective of this project was to prepare the design, opinion of probable construction costs and necessary permits in order to address and correct the deficiencies enumerated in the inspection report prepared by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Moanalua Drainage Channel located at Mauka of the Moanalua Freeway is 1.6 miles in length.

Design - Build Replace large Capacity Cesspools Kaneohe
Marine Corps Base
LYON was responsible for Consultation with the Client, SAN Construction, and if required, with the Owner, to define and clarify Client's and Owner's requirements for the project and to review available data. Performed field investigations necessary for design to include topographic survey, where needed, to supplement drawings and surveys furnished by Owner.

Hawaii Kai Dog Park
The Hawaii Kai Dog Park was developed by the community group, Hui 'Ilio Hawaii, and the Honolulu Department of Parks & Recreation, through a public-private partnership. LYON volunteered to assist in the design of this 2-acre site in Hawaii Kai for the community to build and operate a dog park which included fencing and utilities.
